My mandolin was carved from a bristlecone pine that grew on Buffalo Bill’s grave, and my songwriting genes come from a lab experiment involving a month in a bathtub full of bourbon with a radioactive strand of Johnny Cash’s hair.

My favorite thing right now is driving blues harmonica through my Shure Green Bullet mic and a 60s Epiphone tube amp. People appreciate the parts I craft in the studio because I am attentive to what the other instruments are doing, and especially to lyrics. I aim to compliment what’s already there, not to overwhelm the song with more.

My vocals range from contemplative to raucous, and I have a texture in my voice that sends engineers scurrying about, checking to see if pop-screens are vibrating against the mic. No, that’s just my voice.

I am also the Bazaar Master. I love to help connect you with the right collaborators for your song.
